The future of self serving banking is not about fully automated robotic teller. We know that modern ATM machines offer a wide range of banking transaction, but it’s not enough. Perhaps the future of self servingbanking is about humanized the machine to understand its customers much better. Spanish bank BBVA asked IDEO to rethink their self service channel from scratch in 2007. So, IDEO started to do research by listening really carefully to people talking about their banking experience, finding clues how to make their experience better. The result is the vision for a totally new self service experience, an ATM built from user up rather than components down. The product initializes a self washing and sanitizing era of toilet. Like the washing machine and the dish washer Kirei cleans its bowl itself. This maintains the bathroom environment healthy. The structure comprises of a lid, sterilamp, seat, bowl, tank and self washing system. The self washing system is remote controlled. It ensures silent flushing, thorough rinsing and efficient use of energy. The seat is detachable and has a time indicator. The main target of the sterilamp is to keep the seat under the lamp. The lid has automatic open and close mechanism and has a 180 degree reflective diffuser. The tank has frosted glass wall and organic decalc filtration. The components are detachable and this Kirei Toilet can be used in hospitals, luxury hotels and restaurants.

Movable Urinals concept has been designed to provide easier access for disabled people to urinate. People in a wheelchair often have difficulty when they need to go to the toilet. There are still many public places that aren’t designed to support disabled toilet facilities. Even with grab bars, it’s really challenging for these people to use the standard urinal because their mobility is limited. This concept brings the urinal to them, especially designed for men with disabilities, even when they sit, they still can do their business conveniently. It offers better sanitary experience.

The Water Stone faucet and sink system designed by Omer Sagiv, combines innovation and elegance, not only by it looks but also because of the the playful control mechanism designed by Touch360 and Smith Newnam – a new innovative way to interact with water and light. Drawing inspiration from the ripples on the water’s surface, the faucet creates a strong visual relationship between the user’s interaction with it, and with the water flow and temperature. The movement of the ball on the ripple surface controls the flow and the water temperature and the surface color indicates actual temperature. The Water Stone system is handcrafted and would be available only for orders as a limited addition.

This Cordless Kettle is the second product released in 2012 as part of Kitchenware design for Peel. You probably still remember the coffee machine design, this kettle features similar artistic design with subtle soothing blue light. The main aesthetic centrepiece of this unique kettle is the elegantly crafted surfaces that peel away to form the spout.

The lid comprising of a sleek rippled surface pivots open to help communicate where to fill with water. Both the lid and handle are crafted from pressed stainless steel, with their edges falling away into a sea of soft blue light encircling them. Continuous soft glowing LED band lights up the room with colour to indicate when the kettle is boiling and subtly indicate the water level display.
